Hi, my name is Paul and my better half name is Sharon.  We were married in 1959 and have just had our 50th Wedding Anniversary which means we have lived in Burns Oregon, for 50 years as well. Boy how time fly’s!

We live in a small town named Burns with about 4000 people and are at the half way point between 2 larger Cities, each 132 miles away and I would have to say if you are looking for a job, this no place to come unless you work for a  rancher or you are school teacher, lawyer,  or something like that. We moved to Burns in Aug. of 1959  right out of high school and immediately went to work for Edward Hnes Lumber Company. it had been here since the early 20s. and was very well known throughout the USA as it was the largest covered mill in the world. I worked there for 23 years. during this time, Sharon was home taking care of our two children; Dean and Jennifer. When Hines went down in 1980, I went to College for three years in Eugene Oregon to become a Diesel Mechanic and my dear Wife took some classes on psychiatry as well.  Upon Graduating I found that the market was saturated with Diesel Mechanics so the Wife and I went back to Burns as we had a house built three years earlier, before the Hines Mill went down and it was worth nothing at that time. I worked as a Mechanic for about One and 1/2 years. After that, other Lbr. Co’s. opened up and I worked for each one of them till they closed their doors. the last one being, Louisiana Pacific which closed it’s doors in Oct. 2007. right after that I decided to retire and as I look back, the Lumber industry was very good to me and for the most part I really enjoyed it.   

If we want to go to do some serious shopping or see a specialist we have to go either 130 miles west or130 miles east to the nearest town.  We don’t have a Walt-Mart, Burger King, and things like that.  We have two grocery stores, one show house, a Subway, a McDonald, and about 3 Restaurants. Other things we have is lot of vacant stores, one  gym for anyone  and Curves for women.      For the most part, people just pass through, but we do have a huge Bird Festival in the Spring and Hunting and fishing  that revels any in the state. we live in some what of a semi desert area with a beauty all it’s own, with canyons and jutting rocks and the mountains just a few miles away that has lakes and streams. Camping, Hiking, Rock hunting and Warm water fishing is the norm but there are some huge trout caught as well.

I was just thinking to myself how each of us value things differently, a Husband and Wife or a Boy and a man.  One time a neighbor Boy and I were walking along a reservoir and was rock collecting , after a while we put them on the ground and were looking at what each of us had collected. I had a number of colored rock and agate. the Boy had rocks that turned this way and that and some were remembrances of shapes of toys and other things He had seen in the past.

It was funny, for my Wife will pick up rock at times for almost the same reason!   

Sharon lost her job as a security guard in 1996 because of mill closure, so she went to school for two years and got a job working for HHOPE. Then she went to work for the Chief of Police for almost two years as his secretary, it was then that she had a hip replacement in Oct. 26th of 2007 and ended up losing her job because the Chief left town.

We are very simple  people and love being with our son and his family along with our daughter and her family.  Our son has two daughters of  his own and a step daughter.  Our daughter has two girls and one grandson.

On most Sundays as much as possible we are united with others in the worship of the one who gives the joy for living !  We travel some, read, go boating and are involved in fishing and hunting. To us there is nothing more rewarding in life than believing in God and what He has given us through our relationships with family, friends, and enjoying the beauty of everything around us.    PS: In 2008 we had the largest number of Quail in the whole USA, in town; and you knew it, especially when you were trying to start a garden or a new yard, for they left pot holes everywhere and you had to rake it flat and reseed every day. When they are that thick it’s time to move some out and they did just that . The Deer are not quite that thick but it’s getting there!

Now to change the tone of the subject matter a little, after a person retires there’s a little more time to do things and to think about the future more and the possibly of what it could hold and question whether we are really set up to handle most any thing that happens! and I am thinking of physical things, and that’s normal.  

When we rented pspshoppingmall. com we knew nothing about how the internet worked and when Amazon contacted us they said that all we needed to do was let them do the work to get traffic to our site.  
Thinking it would be a good investment  we bought it and they gave us 8 stores and the advertisement to quite a no. of sites. We have been with pspshoppinmall.com for over a year and haven’t been contacted by anyone to help and have not made a dime. We knew nothing about this until a friend looked into it and told us about it.  It was fairly close to a year after being in Amazon that we were contacted by Internet Wealth Opitons and they told us that they would look into what was going on in our domain and Mark Mearin was very disappointed in what he found out. It was just sitting there and nothing was done that should have been done to get traffic there! in another words, they dropped the ball. With Mark Mearin helping us to understand what was going on and what should have been going on. We felt we really had found a friend we could trust and have been very satisfied with the help that was given us since then.  He does a one on one personal touch and spends hours on the phone talking to us about our concerns and his and giving us the understanding that we need.  He set up a very beautiful web site for us called Christianoutdoorrecerection.com which has 50 stores on it. They cover just about anything you want or want to do in life ! He will spend hours of his time to get the right slant on the web site to get people to go to the site. Then He will teach us how to manage it and then help if we need to get something done to improve our site.

Mark is fantastic not only in the way he is able to use words but also the ideas he has flows one after another and he explains everything in great detail ,so you can understand it.  In the short time since Mark set this Blog up, we have had a huge amount of traffic.
